My Thoughts & Impressions

The Chanel Pre Fall 16 collection mixes edgy style with a dark, yet sexy mood, with some fantastic fabrics and cuts. The studio set looks amazing! I love how they have incorporated the Paris streets, with the models ascending from the underground station. The set has that dark and moody late night atmosphere, a bit gothic you could suggest, which makes me think of vampires and werewolves, which corresponds with the edgy clothes, use of black and leather materials. I also like the way they have created shop fronts and cafe's with the old wooden seating and tables which the audience can view the catwalk from. I feel it adds to the atmosphere.

Many of the outfits feature unique black floral lace tights, and layered, long beaded necklaces. I really like the use of patent leather pencil skirts in the outfits. American actress Jessica Chastain wore an outfit from this show to a future Chanel event, combining a patent leather pencil skirt and an embellished jacket, and she looked stunning (read my review here).

Another piece I was drawn too in this collection was the quilted leather crop top and skirt. I think as a set it looks great, but you could easily wear each piece separately. Other pieces include wool trousers, sequin tops and cropped capes.
